用眼睛傾聽

來到美國，一方面是為了工作，另一方面是為了渡假。那天我去了當地一家非常好的二手書店，想找本書作為這一週的讀物。我偶然發現了這本書，中文翻譯叫《心是孤獨的獵手》（The Heart is a Lonely Hunter）。這本書是美國極為傑出的女作家Carson McCullers在23歲時發表的經典之作。故事一開頭的這一段，就已經令我非常著迷：

“In the town there were two mutes, and they were always together. Early every morning they would come out and their footsteps would be bright on the pavement. And as they walked in silence they would listen with their eyes.”

（在小鎮上有兩個啞巴，他們總是一起出現。每天清晨，他們會走出來，腳步在路面上閃閃發亮。他們默默地走，用眼睛傾聽。）

不知為何，我特別喜歡這句「用眼睛傾聽⋯⋯」。這句話在我心中激起了一種奇妙的共鳴，讓我不禁思考人與人之間那種無聲而深刻的連結。讀著這本書，我期待著發現更多這樣觸動心靈的句子。
